How to apply

HOW TO APPLY FOR BACHELOR DEGREE PROGRAMS

The Program Application Form can be downloaded from our website www.suic.org or can be collected from SUIC’s Office.
Pay the application fee via 1. money transfer 2. cashier check 3. in person.
Here is the list of required documents, which must be attached to the application form.

1. Official certificates of formal education.
2. High school transcripts. (A certificate must be recognized by Ministry of Education, Royal Thai Government.) If transcripts need approving by the Ministry of Education, this process can take 2-3 months. Please see below.
3. Copy of Student’s and Parent’s official identification documents (Passport, I.D. card, etc.)
4. Copy of Student’s and Parent’s house registration (if applicable).
5. Copy of official English language test score: TOEFL, IELTS, and the score must not be older than two years from the application date. Applicants without appropriate qualifications must sit the SUIC English Language test.
6. Electronic portfolio review (for BFA program).
7. Four photos – size 1”


HOW TO APPLY FOR MASTER DEGREE PROGRAMS

Pay the application fee via 1. money transfer 2. cashier check 3. in person.
Here is the list of required documents, which must be attached to the application form.

1. Official certificates of formal education, completion of High School/Grade 12.
2. A high school transcript and certificate for BBA and BFA program, plus your bachelor degree transcript and certificate for MBA (international education outside of Thailand will need to be validated by the Ministry of Education in Thailand. For further information please see below)
3. Copy of official identification documents (Passport, I.D. card, etc.).
4. Copy of house registration (if applicable)
5. Copy of English proficiency with a minimum TOEFL score of 500 PBT 173 CBT or 61 IBT or IELTS score of 5.5. Applicants who are from Native English speaking countries and use English as their primary language are exempt from the English language requirements.
6. 4 photographs size 1”.

Port Folio Review (BFA in Digital Communication Design only)
Submit art and design portfolio including photographed and/or scanned works of art (such as paintings, drawings, sculptures, etc.) graphic, time-based, interactive, digital work on a CD or DVD (compatible with both PC and MAC).
Download a portfolio inventory sheet that indicates the title of work, medium/format, dimensions, date of completion, running time, software used, and any other related information about each piece in the portfolio. Label CD or DVD and case with your full-name, address, and phone number.



Digital Format
1. Images should be saved as high quality JPEG files (with a file suffix of .jpg or .jpeg format), Adobe .pdf files, or digital portfolios created in PowerPoint, Director, Flash or HTML.
2. Images should be saved at 72 dpi screen resolution with a minimum height/width of 1,000 pixels.
3. Digital portfolios should be checked to assure that links work properly and all necessary files are included.
4. Students should indicate whether special instructions are necessary for the viewing of digital portfolios.
5. An inventory sheet must be attached.


Moving Image Format
1. Work should be submitted in a platform-independent player format or in QuickTime with the file suffix labeled as .qt or .mov (.mpeg format is also acceptable).
2. Applicants interested in presenting a film and television portfolio should submit work in a multimedia format or as a 5-minute sample on DVD.
3. An inventory sheet must be attached.


Drawing Test (BFA in Digital Communication Design only)
Students are required to take a Drawing and Design skills test and need to bring their own drawing tools (ex. pencils, pens, markers, colors and etc.) Avoid using water based materials.


INTERVIEW
On receipt of the Program Application Form, inclusive of all required documents, the Admission Committee will assess your application. Following initial assessment, candidates will be invited for an interview (and portfolio review for BFA). Successful candidates will be informed within 2 weeks and officially announced on SUIC’s website.


INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS & VISA PROCESS
All educational certification needs to be validated by the Ministry of Education in Thailand. Applicants with the following worldwide acceptable qualifications are eligible to apply. However once a student arrives in Thailand they will still need to gain the letter of equivalency from the Ministry of Education.
I.G.C.S.E./G.C.S.E./ G.C.E. ‘O’ level certificates with results not lower than C in at least 5 subjects;
G.E.D. certificate and diploma;
IB certificate with scores not lower than 4 in at least 5 subjects;
‘A’ level certificate with grades not lower than “E” in at least 3 subjects;
New Zealand High School equivalency.
Australian High School – Senior Secondary Certificate of Education and transcript, which are issued by the Australian Qualifications Framework.


Remark:
Any other equivalent high school certificates or diploma needs to be translated into English and certified by a student’s own Ministry of Education, Foreign Ministry, or Embassy. A student will then need to obtain a letter of equivalency from the Ministry of Education in Thailand and attach it to their application form.

Requestor is required to submit this letter with attached documents in person.

Once all the documents have been approved by the Ministry of Education and a student has been accepted onto the program, SUIC will send a letter of acceptance and an official note certifying the purpose of travel in Thai and translated copy in English to the applicant. The student then has to submit both the acceptance letter and all certified documents to the Royal Thai Embassy in their relevant country to ask for a NON-IMMIGRANT STUDENT VISA.


Remark: It can take two to three months for this process.
International students need to renew their visa after the first 90 days. All foreigners resident in Thailand must report to immigration every 90 days.
